Hey there, I’m Lilia, the face behind this travel blog. I’m your regular German girl with a passion for exploring new places and sharing my experiences.

Why lostlilia?

Let’s start with the easy half: Lilia is my name. “Lost” can be taken multiple ways: lost in the streets of a new city (my sense of navigation is quite bad), getting lost on purpose to experience places in a more authentic way, and also a little bit lost as to where to go in life.

How do you pay for your travels?

I did my bachelor’s degree in a co-op programme meaning I worked full-time whenever I wasn’t in university and therefore had an okay monthly income. I also worked another 6 months on a proper full-time income and after three and a half years of saving, I decided that now is the time to spend all my money on fulfilling my dreams.

How do you like to travel?

I love budget-travel and backpacking. I feel that it often gives you a more authentic insight into a destination. While I value hidden gems and local experiences, I will also visit highlights – after all, they are highlights for a reason. I mostly travel solo or with friends.
